Great work!
Question for “googlepolice”….did you use the QuickTime Pro to merge your images and then the Final Cut Pro to make it like a video and add music? Sorry…I’m interested in this type of photography but have no idea what software to use….any input would be helpful! Thanks in advance! ~ Bear

I found this video on Ross Ching’s blog ages ago and this is what inspired me to make my own time lapse video… I thought it was just the coolest thing I had ever seen!
The shadows creeoing across the hardwood floor was amazing. Very nice job putting this together.
oh, nvm i see it now…sry
What’s the name and artist/composer of the background music?
This was beautiful and the music is amazing!!! anyone knows the name?
Thanks for the tips G21SF.
This was absolutely fantastic!
I’m not a photographer, but this was cool, and the music was wonderful.
oh, ok. Thanks!!
The G9 will snap the pictures and transfer them to your PC as each pic is taken (using the time lapse feature on the Canon Digital Solutions software disc). You’ll then need to use a movie editing program to compile all those images to make a movie.
It takes a while to get it all done. From start to finish (set up, snapping pics, transfers, video editing, etc.), it took me just over two hours to make a short 20 second time lapse movie.
would i be able to set the shutter speed, AND have it take a time lapse video? i get it in the mail on friday lol so i cant really play around with it yet.
Yes, it’s possible with the G9. Set your camera to as low an ISO as possible to avoid digital noise (no higher than ISO 400). Set your shutter speed to about 10 – 15 seconds… any longer and the stars will be blurred due to motion.
Hook your G9 to a PC and use the Canon software to run the time lapse interval control (maybe about 1 shot every 5 or 10 seconds). After that, slap all the images together in Windows Movie Maker or Adobe Premiere Pro. That’s it… Have fun!
are the shots of the stars possible with a canon g9? what were your settings for them? how many seconds per frame?
Easily.
