In Photopaint be sure to export your image as a gif with transparency or as a png with transparency or simply erase your layer which contains the background and save under any other format you like, provided you are OK with a white background. You can also save your PhotoPaint image as .psd or .cpt and import it into CorelDraw, where you can ungroup its layers and delete those which you don't want.
