Great Video. Thanks Snapfactory and Mark. very informative.
wow that is a model if i ever seen one!
Hi Mark, thanks for this video clip. The illustration of how the curtains work actually helped to answer a lot of questions!
haha
Well… im no expert but it sounds that you are taking a picture in a well lit place. All these numbers change depending on where you shoot.. make a trial an error and youll get it…
cool.
yeah !!
photography lovers..
i have uploaded my first video recently..
and i appreciate ur comments ^^
I would look at the aperature setting or your ISO. You can normally leave the aperature and raise the ISO level if you want to set a certain depth of field.
Hey Megan could say a few words also, don’t you think? After all without Megan you’d be photographing a pole.
I dont get it. I set my camera sync speed witch is 1/200 with a flash and the whole picture is lit not just the subject? I am using a Canon Rebel XTI. Please help me. I am so confused!!!!! I don know what I am doing wrong!!
wow great site man! i thort this was spam and was gonna mark your post spam, but this site is legit man. thanks for sharing your discovery!
a friend of mine asked this question and i couldnt get an awesome answer, so i looked online, through blogger. And lo and behold i found this awesome website that explained it all, its relativly new but had all the info i needed. Heres the site:

wow. this video got me excited to take pictures of my own. i’m not familiar with any of the terms you said which was funny but i’m very much eager to explore this wonderful world. thanks!
shutterbug in the making…
Mark – this is a brilliant video. I don’t know how I missed seeing this sooner, but it’s great information and very clear and easy to understand. Marc
peep my pics! put in a search for (Cross Country Roadtripin 08)
I have a sekon l358 light meter. Why if I have taken a meter reading at say 1/200 F8 , and I slow my shutter down, it also changes the Fstop reading?? I thought that shutter speed didn’t matter when using flash?
Very informative, but he does make one error. At 2:21 he states that as shutter speed increases the slit becomes smaller, which is correct, but also says the curtains move faster, which is incorrect.
The curtains always move at the maximum speed of which they are capable. Only the delay between first curtain opening and second curtain closing changes.
And me
These are fucking brilliant for stupids like me
Nice video, didn’t know that technique was called key shifting.
I don’t have the money for my flashes and boxes yet, and this is fantastic to know before getting it. This will save me a ton of time when I want to start shooting because this is EXACTLY what I was trying to figure out; again, without having the flash yet. Thank you!!!
what a clear explanation, I just started to take photography class and it’s really helpful, thanks
amazing explanation. Thank you very much
