Thanks for the reply and the great video..keep it up Gordon!
Any telescope shop will be able to sell you one with a tube attached – try searching for one in your area, or lookup telescope house.
where can you purchase a t-mount in the uk??(online)
Very cool! Now I know an affordable way to have a 1,728mm lens….
Awesome!!
hi newbie here.. what does live view mean? sorry.. idk anythin bout camera settings.. just starting… thank u
what video camera did you use for making this video?? its outstanding.
this is great amazing art wow!!
Yes 12800 at 1,8 Megapixels
You want to be shooting at 100 ISO, =)
I have a 450D and the live view is great for astrophotography. Only problem is that the camera itself doesn’t have enough gain for fainter subjects… but the 500D has 12,800ISO. Time for an upgrade : )
firstly, go for canon….cheaper lenses and more choice. what’s ur budget?
can someone plase link me to the t mounts? what types of telescope can they mount to?
Thanks gordon, this video was very helpful.
The LV magnification makes it much easier to confirm the precise focus compared to using the viewfinder – and LV with the main sensor also eliminates any errors with the viewfinder not being perfectly calibrated.
say mate when you talk abot how live view makes it easier to focus, do you mean easier as in “dont have to bend my head to an awkward position”, or easier as in more precise then the actual viewfinder?
I reccomend something like the Finepix S5800. Great cameras and cheap.
will that t mount fit on my Kodak P880?
hey guys, what kind of camera can you recommend me? a beginner in photography?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!
The technique is identical for all of Canon’s current DSLRs, incoluding the 50D. You can also use a film SLR, although obviously there won’t be live view for focusing! You’ll have to reply on the viewfinder alone.
I think I might be getting the 50D soon does this teqnique work for the 50D? Anyway until I get that, the only SLR i own is a 35mm Canon eos rebel x. Does your teqnique work with 35mm? please reply…
I am very happy to find this video, you guys provide quality info packed in very friendly clip.
Thanks!
1728mm!! Thats what i call a zoom lens
How can you be positive that focus is “spot on” without a focus mask or software that details information about your focus? Without these focusing aids, focusing becomes a guessing game.
